Emergencies

Orthodontic emergencies are very rare and can be handled during regular office hours.  We will show you how to handle most little problems on your own.  You can bend or tuck in wires that are bothering you, and sometimes even cut them off with some type of clipper at your home.  We will provide you with wax to cover other areas until you can see us in the office.  If you have broken appliances, meaning that one or more of the brackets or bands that were glued to your teeth have broken, please call ahead and let us know.  We generally do not have time to repair those after school, and will need you to come a little earlier so that we can properly repair your appliances.  Broken appliances and delays in repairs will significantly delay treatment.

Dr. Campbell may not always be available, but if there is ever a case of a major accident or sports injury to the teeth, he will make every effort to see you soon afterwards to limit the damage to your teeth.  You can also call your general dentist or an oral surgeon if necessary.

Appointments

Our office is generally open Monday-Thursday from 8-12 AM and 1:30-5PM.  There can be exceptions or changes around holidays.  Most of your appointments are considered short and can be scheduled during any available office hours.  Some appointments are considered long and can only be done during morning or early afternoon hours.  We are very busy after 3PM and we want to give everyone an opportunity to come for those short appointments.  Thus we cannot schedule the long ones during those busy times.  The actual placement of the appliances most often is scheduled in the mornings for 1-2 hours.  Orthodontic records and some more complicated procedures take 45 minutes or more and those must be in the morning or immediately after lunch.

We hope you understand this policy.  We want the front area of our office to be a reception room and not a waiting room.  We value your time and want to minimize any delays in your appointments.  Being prompt and on-time for your appointments will help us keep the schedule moving smoothly as well.

Financial Arrangements

The fees for orthodontic treatment will be spread over the approximate length of treatment.  Everyone's payment arrangement is individualized for their situation.  A reasonable initial fee will be due and monthly payments to complete the agreement.  We do not charge interest but there can be a late fee for accounts 90 days behind.  We presently accept checks and cash, but not credit cards.  Accepting credit cards would increase the office's costs, and thus would have to be reflected in higher treatment fees.

Insurance

We will file any dental insurance that may have orthodontic benefits.  If coverage is available, it is generally 50% to a lifetime maximum per patient of $1000 to $1500.  We do not sign exclusive agreements with any insurance companies since those agreements limit Dr. Campbell's choices and recommendations for your treatment.  We have found that even without those participating agreements, claims will be paid without major problems.  We will make every reasonable effort to get your insurance benefits for you, but ultimately the responsibilty is yours if there are delays or denials.
